Aggies Rally Past FAMU To Take Lead At MEAC Meet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Dec. 2) - Defending champion North Carolina A&T rallied in the second half of the second MEAC Southern Divisional Bowling Tournament, to edge out host Florida A&M after Day One of competition at the Galimore Lanes on the FAMU campus.

The Aggies (4-2 on Saturday), recorded a 5,389 team pinfall total to nudge past host FAMU (3-3), with 5,305 pins and Norfolk State (5-1), with 5,004 pins. Bethune-Cookman (0-6) was in fourth place after Day One, with 4,690 pins.

Host FAMU placed three players in the Top Ten on the Individual Leaderboard Saturday, as the Rattler trio of  Keondra Eaton (200.33), Monique Ragland (199.00) and Demetria Bethel (192.67) - finished 1-2-3 in the rankings, followed by the Aggie duo of Ana Olaya (191.00) and Cameron Strombeck (190.67).

Second round action begins Sunday at 9:00 a.m. at the Galimore Lanes in the lower level of the FAMU Student Union Complex..
