FAMU Bowlers Get 2nd At TNBA/HBCU Invitational

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (Mar. 17) – The FAMU Women’s Bowling team wrapped up their 2018-19 season with the second place finish in the first-ever TNBA/HBCU Invitational, hosted by Jackson State University.

FAMU (51-48, 7-12 MEAC) fell just short to host Jackson State in Sunday’s final round after leading the field each of the first two days.

Junior Demetria Bethel was the MVP of the event, after carding a sizzling 223.00 average through five games (1,115 pins), with high games of 236, 235 and 232.

Joining Bethel on the All-Tournament team from FAMU were Chelsie Cleaves (209.60), who finished second in the individual standings, LeAnn Militscher (203.20) and Keondra Eaton (198.20).

The Lady Rattlers finished 7-6 in the event, but led the field in total pin falls with 13,485, good for a 195.4 team average.
