This was the first Women’s Award for FAMU since 2001, and their 10th overall, as the school won nine (9) straight awards from 1993 to 2001, while Bethune-Cookman won its’ first-ever award.

The win ended a 14-year reign of dominance by Hampton University, which had a string stretching back to 2002.

The Lady Rattlers won conference titles in Softball, Cross Country and Outdoor Track and Field, while finishing tied for first in the Southern Division in Women's Tennis, placing second in the Southern in Women's Volleyball and second overall in Indoor Track; placing fourth in the Southern Division in Bowling, and seventh overall in Basketball.

The All-Sports Awards are indicators of the overall strengths of the conference’s men’s and women’s athletic programs.
