FAMUTrack Opens Indoor With Seven Top 20 Finishes

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Dec. 1) – The FAMU Track and Field program opened their 2017-18 Indoor Season Friday afternoon in the Birmingham Southern College Ice Breaker Invitational at the Crossplex.

The Rattler Men scored a pair of third place finishes, as MEAC Cross Country Performer of the Year, David Too, ran third in the 3000 meters, collecting the 10 first place points as the first collegiate finisher, while Connor McMillan finished third in the Pole Vault, getting six points for his 4.30 meter effort.

Those 16 points placed the FAMU Men 10th overall in the field.

Meanwhile, the FAMU Women had five Top 20 finishes, led by Cheyenne Brooks’ fifth place in the Pole Vault (3.25 meters).

Three other Rattler Women recored Top 20 finishes in the Pole Vault, including Zenzele Thomas (7th, 3.10 meters), Jazmyn Dennis (12th, 2.95 meters) and DiCarla Alvarez (15th, 2.80 meters).

Veteran Fridah Limo ran in the Women’s 3000 Meters, placing 18th in 11:17.12.

WHAT’S NEXT: FAMU heads to Clemson, South Carolina next Saturday for the Clemson Opener at the Rock Norman Track and Field Complex.
